Let’s explore the Staten Island Greenbelt together!
High Rock Park is the cornerstone of the Greenbelt and one of the areas most popular “Forever Wild” parks. High Rock was designated a National Environmental Education Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior in 1971.
High Rock Park contains five ponds and various wetlands. During this hike we may see wild turkeys, foxes, deer, hawks, owls, frogs and turtles!!
After the hike we can all grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant!
This will be a mostly flat hike with some hills. All levels of hiking experience are welcome!! The approximate length of this hike is 5 to 6 miles!
