What is this contest all about you ask? So it’s basically you take any poetry off of Newsweed.com and make the lyrics to an original song that you put together. Be creative, use existing poetry on the site, or if you are so inclined submit your own poetry to our poetry contest, then use that. As for the music we don’t care how you get that. In the end all completed works will be uploaded to UPyours where you will get additional kudos i.e. potential downloads, and syndication thru Lovappy. 

• All entries must be in by Jan. 31, 2022
• All poetry must come from newsweed.com
• All accompanying music must be original in nature
• Have fun and be creative! 

1st Prize

$250 cash, QR code to your music in our print edition, feature on our website, and Newsweed hoodie.

2nd Prize

$100 cash, QR code to your music in our print edition, feature on our website, and Newsweed hoodie.

3rd Prize

$50 cash, QR code to your music in our print edition, feature on our website, and Newsweed hoodie.

This is the fine print. Newsweed reserves the right to publish and syndicate all submissions any way we see fit. This includes digitally and in print, also on UPyours and Lovappy. You can potentially earn .40 per download from UPyours. Just because we are running a contest doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a winner, or 3 winners, etc. For example, if by chance we receive a lack of quality submissions we reserve the right to call it null and void.
