Stokes State Forest1 Coursen Road, Branchville, NJ (map) we will meet at the visitors center parking lot on Rt 206 and carpool to the trail headA natural area within Stokes State Forest, Tillman Ravine retains the primeval beauty of its pine and hemlock forests. A mountain stream, Tillman Brook, flows through the area and rises in a spring along side of the Kittatinny Mountains. This is an ideal place for hikers, photographers, and serious students of earth sciences. Length: 9 miles Difficulty: Advanced due to the very steep section up Buttermilk Falls Duration: 5 hours Directions: I-80 West to exit 34B. Rt. 15 North to end (traffic light). Proceed straight to Rt. 206 north, about 5 miles, into Stokes State Forest. The park entrance will be on right. Parking lot is then on your left.
